The 7th Asia-Pacific Programme for Senior National Security Officers (APPSNO) was held from 7 to 12 April 2013 in Singapore.


The theme was Narrowing the Theory-Practice Gap. Leading global security experts in homeland security matters were invited to share their experiences and look into the following main questions:


1.

 

 

Key national security issues particular to the Asia Pacific region and beyond such as cybersecurity, violent extremism, radicalisation, diplomacy and strategic communications

 

2.

 

Best practices, strategies and lessons learned in dealing with such issues from global counterparts

 

3.

How academic research can assist practitioners understand and address complex national security threats
