The 6th Asia-Pacific Programme for Senior National Security Officers (APPSNO) was held from 8 to 13 April 2012 at the Sentosa Resort and Spa, Singapore.


The theme was Complexities: Interactions and Inter-dependencies for National Security. Leading global security experts in homeland security matters were invited to share their experiences and look into the following main questions:



In what ways does “complexity” manifest itself and what challenges do they pose to national security planning?




How should governments manage security in complex and unpredictable environments?




  1. Can government agencies and ordinary citizens alike be trained to adapt to the new security challenges today and respond in a resilient manner in unexpected crises?
